Gateway Community Services Hosting a SPARCS Learning Collaborative 

SPARCS stands for Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress. SPARCS is a 16 week intervention that is designed to address the needs of traumatized adolescents who may still be living with ongoing stress and may be experiencing problems. 

The collaborative will be September 28 & 29, 2010 and December 1& 2, 2010 with bi-weekly calls which will reinforce the clinical applications, flexibility, sustainability and evaluation. 

Training sessions comprise four full day trainings. The first two day training includes a balance of didactic presentation, demonstrations, role-plays and mindfulness practice and is completed before group implementation. The second two day training is held approximately 6 -8 weeks later. SPARCS is a learning collaborative model designed to promote a partnership for clinicians that supports sharing challenges and creative problem solving strategies for successful implementation.

Training includes:

Certified SPARCS Clinicians provide clinical group supervision for participants for one hour twice monthly, for approximately 9 months to 1 year 
Multi-site consultation calls with group leaders, supervisors and administrators 
Clinicians can apply to become Certified SPARCS Clinicians 
Qualified agencies must send one supervisor and at least two clinicians to both two day sessions.
