Back to School Bash
Gateway Community Services celebrated the end of summer break with a Back to School Bash for the children in the Child Development Center Friday, August 20, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. The children were given back to school supplies and had fun with an inflatable bounce house, pony rides and face painting by Cotton Candy the clown. Games with prizes were played by the children and clients. Partiers enjoyed hotdogs and cotton candy and were able to keep cool with a sno-cone machine. A highlight of the afternoon was when Gary Powers was presented with artwork the children had created over the summer. Everyone had a good time, especially the children who are all excited for a new school year.
Gateway’s Child Development Center provides daycare and learning opportunities to the children of clients in treatment. The center is open to 35 children ranging in age from newborns to 12 years old. The program allows men and women in treatment to have their children with them as they work to rebuild their lives and reconnect as a family unit.
