WORK HOURS: 40 HOURS PER WEEK/EXEMPT

This is a professional position in which the incumbent will provide both direct and indirect services working with a multidisciplinary team to address the patients’ needs. The incumbent must demonstrate competencies in population of substance abuse and mental health patients, including working with patients who have an Opioid Use Disorder and are receiving medication assisted treatment.  Thus, incumbent should be knowledgeable about medications used in medication assisted treatment. Incumbent will facilitate evidence based intervention, psycho-educational and/or counseling individual sessions and groups including but not limited to: motivational interviewing, identifying and recovery from substance use disorders, emotional and interpersonal regulation skills, distress tolerance skills, relapse prevention, anger management, building supports and 12 step programs, etc. Incumbent will complete orientations and other intake administrative forms. Incumbent will provide in-depth clinical assessment (Bio-Psychosocial or GAIN assessments), diagnostic impression of clinical conditions, individualized treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and discharge planning. The incumbent will be responsible for documenting services according to organization and insurance guidelines, and will coordinate with the billing and utilization review departments to ensure services are provided and documented appropriately. The incumbent will provide case management services. Incumbent will attend, provide and/or coordinate various education, training, consultation, and policy development for the program and the agency, as requested. Incumbent will be scheduled to work in the adult outpatient substance abuse treatment programs that provide services to adults with behavioral health needs. Incumbent will attend meetings as requested and assist the Team Leader and Manager of Adult Outpatient Services as needed. This position requires evening work, and may require some weekend work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree within the Human Services field, with experience in substance abuse and mental health counseling, and a current license (LMHC/LCSW/LMFT). Incumbent must have the ability to engage critical thinking and the ability to formulate professional clinical reports. Incumbent must have the ability to complete documentation within required timeframes while meeting organizational standards. The incumbent must be proficient in evidence-based practices for treating substance use and mental health disorders. Incumbent must be willing to work with patients who are receiving medication-assisted treatment services.

 

  • Must be able to pass a level II DCF background screening
  • Ability to relate to adolescents, adults, significant social supports, referral sources, and internal/external team members and must possess requisite competencies to effectively understand and provide appropriate services to the patient population served.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment under stressful situations
  • Must have knowledge of the 12 step recovery process
  • Must have knowledge and be willing to support patients enrolled in medication assisted treatment
  • Must possess strong individual and group counseling skills
  • Must be able to complete documentation within required timeframes while meeting organizational standards
