This is a professional position in which the incumbent will provide direct care to adolescent patients as assigned by SAT Team Leader and Program Director. You must have an aptitude to work with teens under stressful situations in their lives. This position will require someone attentive with excellent observation and monitoring skills to observe patient behavior. This position is in a “Hands Off” facility and at no time is staff allowed to put his/her hands on a patient to control or restrain them; The only exception is if the client is in danger of hurting themselves another patient or a staff member. It is the requirement of this position to help protect the safety, security and well being of the patients. The incumbent will conduct room inspections on a daily basis, documenting and posting results. The incumbent must be able to show empathy to the patient’s needs and have the ability to intervene quickly and appropriately with patients experiencing crisis situations. The incumbent will do searches on all new patients entering the facility and all patients who return to the facility from a home pass. The incumbent will be required to complete occurrence reports, Behavioral form reports and communicate all within the Pass Down Log (PDL). This position will require incumbent to collect drug screens from residents as well as walk-in patients. This position may be required to work evenings; weekends or holidays and incumbent must be awake throughout all shifts. This position will require the incumbent to drive patients to various locations in an agency vehicle; therefore a valid state of Florida driver’s license with a safe driving as verified by the agencies insurance company and ability to successfully complete an agency driving test.
Incumbent must have minimum of a High School or Equivalent with 2 years experience working in the field of substance abuse or mental health. An AA degree or Bachelors in psychology or related field is preferred. This is an excellent position for someone with ambition for the field of recovery and/or mental health along with furthering their education. This position would also allow for growth within the organization with the experience and higher education.
- Must be able to pass a level II DCF background screening
- Must have above average communication skills both internal and external
- Informed concerning abuse reporting
- Must abide by Agencies Code of Ethics, Agency Standards, Policy and Procedure Manual
- Must have own reliable transportation
- Must have the ability to move throughout the facility constantly without limitation
