Transitional Housing Coordinator




The Transitional Recovery Housing (TRH) Coordinator will be responsible for service delivery to individuals in recovery living in TRH at Gateway. The ultimate objective is assisting tenants’ with achieving independent recovery living and financial stability. The Coordinator provides supportive housing counseling to the tenants’; advocates for the tenants’ needs and supports them to meet the goals on their Individualized Plans.


  • Using Motivational Interviewing and a collaborative approach, conduct in-depth assessments to best determine the immediate client concerns including, but not limited to: financial, legal, mental health, substance abuse, employment, health care and housekeeping;
  • Manages all leases of TRH tenants;
  • Available to the residents for counseling and crisis intervention, and makes referrals to community programs for follow-up and treatment for substance abuse mental health, income enhancement and housing;
  • Obtain resources and services as requested and/or needed to address barriers to independent living including but not limited to; credit repair, and assistance with financial applications;
  • Develop partnerships and collaborative relationships with internal and external service providers;
  • Coordinate community relationships to provide services such as job coaching, wealth management, and resume building;
  • Assist client with move-in transition supports including but not limited to; job resumes, financial literacy classes, job coaching, support, and other resources and services as needed;
  • Document all interactions with all tenants utilizing appropriate reporting mechanisms, responsible for coordinating the houses programs and services;
  • Collection of all rent and management of rental vouchers;
  • Attends a weekly meeting as requested;
  • Serve as liaison with Community based organizations, attends meetings with such organizations as needed;
  • Facilitates residents’ house meeting, arranges for guest speakers, and advocates for the residents at staff meetings;
  • Completes reports for program as needed;
  • Attends meetings with outside provider agencies;
  • Performs other tasks as assigned;
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.




Masters Degree preferred, Bachelors Degree acceptable with experience. Incumbent must have a valid state of Florida driver’s license with a safe driving record. Must be able to pass an agency driving test and be approved by our agency insurance company for driving company vehicles.


  • Must be able to pass a level II DCF background screening
  • Must be able to perform assigned work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to relate to adolescents, adults, families, referral sources and internal Gateway Team Members and must possess requisite competencies to effectively understand and provide appropriate services to the client population served
  • Ability to maintain positive team approach
  • Must have knowledge of the 12 step recovery process
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Must be able to complete required documentation of services within established timeframes and completeness
